Individual Music Therapy is designed to engage the creative aspects of each participant in an interactive process of playing, singing, and moving to improvised and familiar music, building on strengths and addressing areas of need. Skilled therapists use piano, guitar, percussion and voice to facilitate meaningful musical experiences within a therapeutic relationship.
Established in 1986, the Music Therapy Institute at Music Conservatory of Westchester is the largest provider of professional music therapy services in the greater Westchester region, working with 2,000 children and adults each year. Individual and group sessions are offered in dedicated studios here at the Conservatory and at various partnering organizations in multiple locations throughout the county. Our Board-Certified therapists all hold masters or doctoral degrees in music therapy.
